Did He Really Do It?

Did Carl Edwards intentionally wreck Brad Keselowiski during the Nascar Sprint Cup race at Atlanta?

I personally think that he didn't, that the way the wreck happen just happen to look like it was done intentionally.

Now many of you, like Nascar official Robin Pemberton, who say that he almost admitted that he did it intentionally.

Well i have one thing to say to you all, what the heck are you thinking.

I mean Carl said that he didn't think that Brad's car was going to flip after he spun, i would have said the same thing if i was interviewed after getting out of my car after i was in a wreck, because i wouldn't think the car would get airborne at Atlanta.

Sure its Nascar's fast track without a restrictor plate, but come on didn't even think that a car could flip at Atlanta.

Now if this happen at Daytona or Talladega then maybe would agree that Carl may have wrecked Brad intentionally, but it didn't.

Brad is just a cry baby, like Kyle Busch, when things don't go his way.

And Nascar is just mad because, i don't know, they said that the wing would make it less likely that a car would become airborne and yet cars are still getting airborne in major wrecks. The only major wreck where a car didn't get airborne was Micheal McDowells qualifying wreck at Texas Motor Speedway.

Now they are saying that the new spoiler will keep the cars from flying, well i'll believe that when pigs fly.

If Carl intentionally wrecked Brad, then i'm sorry that i called Brad a baby.

But with what i know and seen the wreck it looked like Carl tired to set up to passed Brad in turns one and two, but did it to early.

The Goose's Race Awards: The Last for the season for the Nationwide Series And First Time A Driver Has Won Four Awards

Here are the Goose Race Awards for the final Nationwide Series race of 2009. Next Year hopefully will be better and with more Awards. The Good Race Award has been renamed, for today and tomorrows races as well as for The Goose's Most Awards which will be sometime next week, The Keith Romaine Good Race Award in honor of Brookhaven Town (Brookhaven NY) Councilman Keith Romaine who died on November 14th, he was the councilman for my area. I did not know Mr. Romaine personally but from the way people have described him, he sounded like a man whose qualities, it takes to drive a good race.

The Fast Hand Action Award: Brad Keselowski (For not hitting Jason Leffler, when Leffler got lose in front of him)

The Slow Hand Action Award: None

The Black Sheep Award: Brad Keselowski (For getting loose and spinning and then on lap 35 getting spun by Denny Hamlin); Mike Bliss (For getting a one lap penalty for having a tire getting out of his pit box, and at the time losing 5th in points by one point)

The Lucky Break Award: Brad Keselowski (For Nascar allowing his team to get an extra set of tires after his two spins)

The Unlucky Break Award: Brad Keselowski (For getting loose and then for getting spun by Denny); Carl Edwards (For having his front balance get damage); Jeff Burton (For losing a 4.6 lead due to a caution caused by Justin Marks); Mike Bliss (because a tire rolled out of his pit box after he made a pit stop)

Spotlight: The Car Of Tomorrow

I wasn't a fan of The Car Of Tomorrow when Nascar announced it, but don't get me wrong i do care about the safety of the drivers.

Besides the COT'S box shape the thing that turned me against the COT was the way Nascar described it. When Nascar described the COT it made me think that the COT would be this indestructible, not race friendly, thing.

But as the race wrecks of Carl Edwards, Joey Logano, Ryan Newman, and the qualifying wreck at Texas last year of Michael McDowell have shown, the COT has been destructible, but at the same time has been race friendly and has kept the drivers safe.

The only driver to be injured, to my knowledge, during a Sprint Cup race during the COT era was Bobby Labonte at Watkins Glen when he was involved in that big crash there last year.

One thing bothers me thou, didn't Nascar market the COT, besides being a safer car then the old Cup cars, as a car that wouldn't or couldn't get as airborne as easy as the old car?

Well, if they did the COT has surely proved them wrong. The COT seams to be able to get airborne just as easily as the old cup car, as proven by the wrecks of Carl Edwards, Joey Logano, and Ryan Newman and they happen THIS YEAR!!!!!

I would think it's about time that Nascar and their R&D department that no matter what, there is a chance a race car can get airborne, no matter how it is designed.

THE COUNTDOWN: two days until the cup race.

Lance McGrew was named full time crew chief for Dale Earnhardt Jr in 2010, and with a vote of confidence from car owner Rick Hendrick and Dale Earnhardt Jr himself, on Friday.

McGrew, who has been Earnhardt's crew chief since taken over the spot from Earnhardt's long time crew chief and cousin Tony Eury Jr in late May, and has lead Dale to a third at Michigan and ninth at Bristol.

Earnhardt has also led 41 laps at Kansas, under McGrew's tenure this season, before retiring due to engine failure.

AJ Allmendinger was giving a breath test before practice today, following his arrest in Mooresville on a DUI.

besides being put on probation by NASCAR, Allemdinger was also fined $10,000 by Richard Petty Motorsports. RPM also has put Allemdinger on their own probation which lasts until the end of the 2010 Nascar season.

Micheal Waltrip Racing's driver Micheal Waltrip was blacked flagged by Nascar for the final 30 minutes of finial practiced for aggressive driving.

Waltrip in his NAPA 55 Toyota Camry was bump drafting the 48 Chevy Impala SS of Championship leader Jimmie Johnson. Waltrip was warned by Nascar to give Johnson some space, and when he didn't they Black flagged him.

Nascar is said to be keeping a close eye on the bump drafting during this weekend, after the harrowing accident at Talladega during the spring race. The accident was caused when rookie Brad Keselowski made contract with Carl Edwards. Edwards was then sent flying into the catch fence, which sent debris into the stands and injuring several fans.

Keselowski would go on to win the race.
