Busch Loses 25 Points in Nationwide Series






Nascar Announced today that Kyle Busch, who won the Nationwide race at Texas Motor Speedway this past week, was Docked 25 Nationwide drivers' point and Team Owner Joe Gibbs was docked the same amount in owner points after his car failed opening-day inspection.

Busch's crew chief Jason Ratcliff was fined $5,000 and was placed on probation until Dec. 31, 2009 by NASCAR. The violations were Section 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4-I (any determination by NASCAR officials that the race equipment used in the event does not conform to NASCAR rules) and 20A-2.3A (improperly attached weight) of the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series rule book.

Kyle Would have won all three races at Texas Motor Speedway, and made it into the record books by doing so, had he not run out of gas in the Sprint Cup Series race.

Nascar also announced that the crew chief for the number 09 Zaxby's Ford Fusion, Brad Parrott, was fined $5,000 and placed on probation until Dec. 31, 2009 after the car was found in in violation of Section 12-1, 9-4-A (crew chief assumes responsibility for the actions of his/her driver, car owner and crew members) and 12-4-I (unapproved panhard bar adjustment during impound by a team member). Parrott's violations were found during pre-race inspection.
